Endowed with a childlike inquisitive nature he was always curious and had a strong yearning to learn.
We all know his skill and penchant for Chess .I remember , it was sometime in the the late 70's, how thoroughly wonderstruck we were when he demonstrated simultaneous blindfold chess to us in the Hall in First block.
We looked up to him with awe and with great pride talk endlessly about it with family and friends
He was always eager to play a game of Chess whenever he visited us
He taught me how to open a game in Chess, the En passant move and presented me with a set of Five books on Chess along with a handheld chess board made of thick paper with slots for the chess pieces amd I would spend endless hours playing games from these books.
He also taught me how to notate the moves and how to document the position of a Chess game
This is the status of the game which Atthimber played with Mukund!! along with Atthimber's notation of the position...with Chess pieces and a foldable Chess board that he had presented to us
Another thing that amazed us to no end and which we were never tired of telling visitors was his rendering of Mukunda Mala stotram in various ragas...and his skill in composing Pallavis with a play on the name of the Raga
He introduced us to the Flute prodigy Shashank who played for us right in the centre of the Hall in First block..
He was very excited about the electronic instrument "Hemika" he had invented and with great enthusiasm showed us how it worked.
We wish the occasion grand success.
Have a wonderful day reminiscing about Anna with many more beautiful memories from all the admirers of this talented ,creative and intellectual colossus..a simple, gentle, humble, loving, saatwik soul...my dearest Atthimber
